Ernie’s Welding & Fabricating was founded in 1972 by Ernest “Ernie” Chonko and his wife, Margaret, with a simple philosophy: build quality products, stand behind your work, and treat every customer like family.
As the business grew, Ernie’s son, Ernest “Sonny” Chonko, joined the company and helped transform a small family fabrication shop into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of MRI quench vent systems.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, we expanded our capabilities, invested in new technology, and developed lasting relationships with MRI manufacturers, contractors, engineers, and healthcare facilities across the globe. By the turn of the century, Ernie’s Welding had become the trusted name for custom MRI quench vent systems, supplying projects throughout North America and around the world.
Today, while our equipment has evolved and our reach has expanded, our values remain exactly the same.
